Mrs. Pairlee Foster, age 94, of Metropolis, IL went home to be with Jesus at 5:55 am on May 30th, 2018. Mrs. Foster was retired from the Good Luck Glove Co where she worked for 41 years. She was a retired Civil Defense team member. She was also owner of a long-ago restaurant called the Royal Café. She was a member of Mermet Pentecostal Church (Anchor of Hope) for over 55 years. Pairlee also dearly loved the city she lived in and had called home since 1938. She spent her last years at Metropolis Nursing and Rehab Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Brother Sam Roberts, Mrs. Foster’s nephew, officiating. Burial will follow at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Left to celebrate her life are her daughter, Carol Damron of Metropolis; three grandsons, Pastor Rich Harrison and wife Cindy of Ohio, Ken Harrison and wife Angela of Chicago, and Bryan Harrison of Waukegan, IL; one granddaughter, Spring Damron Hayes and husband Josh of Georgia; one sister, Mrs. Elsie Green of Florida; one brother, William “Butch” Englehart and wife Mona of Metropolis; three great grandsons, Ryan Harrison and wife Candice and Nathan Harrison of Ohio, and Forest Hayes of Georgia; two great-great granddaughters, Paige and Emily Harrison of Ohio; plus, many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by her parents, William L. and Oma Adeline Roberts; her first husband, Russell Harrison; her second husband, Anthony “Tony” Foster; fiancé, Virgil Rushing; her son, William Harrison and wife Charon; two step-sons; four brothers; four sisters; and four half-sisters.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 2nd, from 10 am until the funeral hour at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Brother Sam Roberts, Mrs. Foster’s nephew, officiating. Burial will follow at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
