Milledge Henry Quint age 97 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the Massac Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was born October 2, 1921 to Henry and Effie (Leukering) Quint, who preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Miller-Loftus- McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Kent Hollis officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites.
Milledge “Mickey’ is survived by his wife Opal S. Quint; daughter, Mona Hoyle; son, Chris Quint; granddaughter, Nicole Hoyle and grandson Travis Hoyle; One brother, Harmon Quint; and one sister, Dorothy Brown; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John and wife Pauline.
Milledge was the area’s oldest Army World War 2 veteran. He worked and retired at Electric Energy Inc. in the Coal handling department, and raised cattle and crops on the family farm near Round Knob. He was a life long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, and saw the progression of the human society from horse drawn plows to model T cars to steam engines to the modern era. He will be missed by all who knew him, REST IN PEACE.

Friends may call at the Miller-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 12 noon until the funeral hour at 2 p.m.
