Margaret Hocker Obituary

Mrs. Margaret Hocker, age 78, of Metropolis, IL, formerly of Los Angeles, CA, passed away at 7:15 pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer.

A celebration of Margaret’s life will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 6 to 8 pm at Denise and Doug’s home. All family and friends are invited to attend.

Mrs. Hocker retired as a manager of Happy Heart Senior Citizen Center.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Corrine Vance (Art) and Denise Hunerkoch (Doug) all of Metropolis; son, Scott Anderson (Barb) of St. Louis, MO; sister, Nancy Wickham (Gordon) of California; brother, John Stephens (Lola) of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Robin Zickgraf (Jessica) of St. Louis, MO, Nicholas Hunerkoch of Metropolis, Christina Moore (Chris) of Belleville, IL, Alex Anderson and Will Anderson both of St. Louis, MO; great grandchildren, Lyla and Corbin Zickgraf; nieces and nephews, Ron Wickham of Frisco, TX, Jim Wickham, Chris Stephens and Alex Stephens all of California, Belinda Eisenman of Mazatlan, Mexico, Monica Bacon of Whistler, Canada, Jennifer Velez of Orlando, FL, and Tina Miller of Joppa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Jane Stephens; spouse, Lon Sonny Hocker; sister, Diane Stephens, Brother, Ralph Stephens and nephew, Rafael Stephens.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made in Margaret’s name to Project Hope Humane Society, PO Box 125 Metropolis, IL 62960 or Lourdes Hospice Foundation, 911 Joe Clifton Drive Paducah, KY 42001.
