Judith "Judy" (Haun) Dummeier

Judith Ann “Judy” (Haun) Dummeier, age 77 of Brookport, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 with her husband, son and daughter by her side. She was born August 2, 1941 to Cecil and Thelma Haun.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis with Pastor David Krueger officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s United Church of Christ Cemetery at 6201 Waldo Church Road, Metropolis, IL.

Judy was married to and is survived by Charles Philip Dummeier for 50 years, having married in Delta Junction, AK on August 31, 1968. She is also survived by two children, Mary Ann (Dummeier) Dube of Miamisburg, OH and Charles Adam Dummeier of Brookport, IL; one grandson, Ethan Xavier Lippincott of Miamisburg, OH; one brother, Ronald Haun of Easton, MD; one sister, Patricia Glancey of Easton, MD; mother-in-law, Lorraine Powell of Metropolis, IL; sister-in-law, Mary D. Tucker (David) of Paducah, KY; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her first-born son, Roger Damon Dummeier.   

Judy was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Metropolis. She was a kind and generous person who spent a lot of her time making jewelry for her friends and family. She played the guitar, sang and loved to dance. At the age of 50, she became one of the first licensed massage therapists (LMT) in the state of Kentucky. She was a talented artist and never stopped painting and sketching. Some of her artwork will be on display at the visitation and funeral.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, November 7, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
