Jay Larry Weaver, Jr.

Jay Larry Weaver, Jr., age 74 of Wickliffe, KY formerly of Metropolis, IL passed away at 9:32 am on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.

Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis with Austin Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Jay Larry Weaver was born on December 8, 1944 in Paducah, KY to Jay L. and Naomi Weaver. He was a Vietnam Veteran who received a Bronze Star. He graduated from Metropolis High School in 1963, was a former teamster, and was an over the road truck driver for 42 years, most recently with Laidlaw.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Paula Weaver of Wickliffe; children, Crystal Weaver Polivick of Wickliffe and Larry Dale Weaver of Paducah; grandchildren, Peyton Polivick, Hayden Polivick, and Isabella Weaver; nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, December 11, 2018 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis.

Pallbearers will be Presley Polivick, Jimmy Burnham, Chuck Patterson, Kenny Cremeens, Ritchie Douglas, and Ronald McDonald.
