George “Sam” Bohannon, age 60, of Jonesboro, IL, passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home with Bro. David Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow in Pell Cemetery.
Sam had a love for super heroes and wrestling and enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics.
Sam is survived by two sisters, Sandy Obermark and husband Tracy Joyner and Susie Adams; two nieces, Jassica Watson and companion Lyndon Fugate and Lisa Raney; three great nephews, Lane Watson, Shawn Raney and Dakota Raney; a special cousin, Debbie Brown; Lincoln Square and JR Center residents and staff who he considered family; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Dorothy Louise (Henson) Bohannon; grandparents, True and Quincy Bohannon and Chris and Mona Henson.
Visitation will be held from 11am until the funeral at 2pm at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home on Friday, August 10th.

Mr. Bohannon’s family would like to give a special thank you to Lincoln Square and the JR Center for the love and care they gave to Sam and to Landmark Hospital staff for their help during Sam’s stay.
