Emma K. (Adams) Hicks

Emma K. Hicks, 67, of Joppa, IL, passed away at 3:47 am on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Mercy Health Paducah.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, October 28, 2019 at the Joppa Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. David Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Hillerman Cemetery.

Mrs. Hicks was retired from Addus Home Health and was a substitute teacher for Joppa Maple Grove and Massac Unit #1 Schools. Emma was a member of Joppa Missionary Baptist Church, taught Sunday school and was involved with BYW. She was also a board member of Mid-Continent University.

Emma is survived by her husband of 42 years, Harold Hicks; one son, Paul Hicks; two sisters, Rebecca McQuage and Denise Knupp and husband David; one brother, Jess Adams and wife Alyson; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Ruth Christine (Johnson) Adams and one brother, Jonathan David Adams.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28th from 12 noon until the funeral at 2 pm at the Joppa Missionary Baptist Church.
