Edward Cole

Edward Cole, age 79 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 6:30 pm on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Massac Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.  on Tuesday July 24, 2018 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Bro. Penny Emery and Bro. Randy Cole officiating.

Edward was of the Pentecostal Faith belonging to and helping build the churches he attended, Cherry Street Pentecostal Church and the Word of Life Tabernacle.

Edward is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wanda Cole of Metropolis; daughters, Connie Parrish and husband Henry of Mayfield, KY, Ronda Tyler and husband Kenny of Metropolis, Lisa Harris and husband Charles, of Metropolis; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren;                                          brother, Lyndell Cole and wife Sue of Metropolis; several nieces and nephews.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rosalie (Bailey) Cole; one great great grandchild, Joe Luke Wiley; brothers and sisters, Charles Cole, Donnie Cole, William Joe Cole, Mary Anderson, Helen Hall, Sherman Cole, Roberta Cole, Marvin Albert Cole and Robert Cole.

He leaves to Metropolis the homes and businesses that he built for over 50 years.  He was a carpenter, and worked in his early years at Helms Hatchery for 5 years, Sears for 11 years, and sold Insurance for National Life in his spare time.  He frequented the local restaurants and had coffee every morning with his buddies. He will have the coffee ready when his friends cross over.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 24 2018 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.  at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Henry Parrish, Charles Harris, Kenny Tyler, Adam Harris, Joshua Duley, Brandon Parrish, Clinton Ferguson, and Jon Duley.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Lyndell Cole.
