David E. Gragg age 89 of Metropolis, Illinois, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Baptist Health of Paducah, KY. David was born September 11, 1929 to Eugene and Eva (Poindexter) Gragg in Lexington, KY. His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 1 P.M. at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Pastor David Krueger officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Gragg is survived by his wife Dorothy, one daughter, Linda Ohmes and husband Steve, and one son, Michael Gragg and wife Donna; three grandchildren, Matt Ohmes and wife Tera, Charles Gragg and wife Shea, and Hayden Ohmes, Three great grandchildren, Kingston Ohmes and Annabella and Adeline Gragg.
He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, was on the Massac County Fair Board, and was a volunteer at COPE. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. He graduated from the University of Kentucky and received his Master’s degree from IL State at Normal, IL. He was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce serving 4 years.
He worked at the KY Cooperative extension services and 20 years as the Massac Co. Farm advisor for the Cooperative Extension Services, and retired in 1989 to a life of traveling with his wife, Dorothy, for several years.
Friends may call at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 12 noon until the funeral hour at 1 p.m.
