Daniel Tirey Obituary
Mr. Daniel W. Tirey, born December 19, 1936, age 82, of Metropolis, IL, passed away at 6:05 am on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Spice Valley Baptist Church located in Mitchell, IN.
Daniel was a native of Mitchell, IN and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1956. Mr. Tirey pursued a career in banking, and was formerly a president of two banks, Clinton County National Bank and Brookport National Bank. He was also in the National Guard and member of Kiwanis for over 30 years.
Daniel is survived by two sons, Scott Tirey and Chuck Tirey and wife Debbie; one daughter, Emily Honey and husband Cody; stepdaughter, Aime Schofield; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Joan Reynolds; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Edith Tirey; one daughter, Shelley Johnston; two brothers, Norman and Wayne Tirey.
