Anna Jean (Story) Darnell

Anna Jean (Story) Darnell, age 89 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 1:55 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at her residence.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 1 pm to 4 pm at Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home with burial to follow in Pell cemetery with Bro. Justin Wolfe officiating.

Anna worked for many years at Crown Burger, Charlie’s Drive In, and Montego’s. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Eastern Star.

Anna is survived by her children, Darrell Darnell and wife Jennifer, Anna Darnell, Ronnie Darnell, and Scott Darnell; daughter-in-law, Jetta Darnell; 7 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; ½ sisters, Mary Lou Stopa and Margie Wilson; several nieces and nephews.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Thomas and Mary Anna (Rudolph) Story; husband, Odis L. Darnell; son, Odie Darnell; one great grandson; sisters, Betty Drake and Virgie Roberts; two ½ brothers.

Memorials may be made in Anna’s name to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Darnell, Patrick Pevahouse, Justin Darnell, Bruce Darnell, Caleb Darnell, and Michael Pevahouse.
