Steven "Mike" Medley

Steven “Mike” Medley, age 74 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 7:43 pm on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at the Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Mike was retired from Lafarge, was of the Baptist Faith, and an avid fisherman. He was a master at tinkering and a Mac Gyver to all his family and friends. Mike loved spending time with his family and never turned away from helping others.

Mike is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nora Medley; daughter, Heather Clifton and husband Brandon; sons, Matthew Steven Medley and wife Natascha and Tyler Patrick Medley; grandchildren, Xavier Vanderford, Liam Clifton, Hadley Clifton, Erin Medley, and Rose Lynn Medley; great granddaughter, Remi Kate Vanderford; sisters, Julia Garner, Trudy Christian, Debra Medley, and Mary Beth Parmer; sister-in-law, Gina Shredow; several nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Warren G. “Steve” and Mary Ruth (Trapp) Medley; brothers, Patrick Medley and wife Karen and Joe Shredow.

Memorials may be made in Mike’s name to American Cancer Society, 1 E. Wacker Drive, Suite 1500, Chicago, Illinois 60601-1851.
