Willie Scurlock Obituary
Willie Ruth Scurlock, age 81 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 3:58 am on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Trad York and Rev. Jack Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Ruth was a member of Waldo Baptist Church and had worked as a cook for Massac Unit 1.
Ruth is survived by 3 daughters, Patty Lane and husband Gary of Williamsburg, NM, Teresa Holmes of Mayfield, KY, Carolyn Talbert and husband James of Metropolis, IL; 1 step son, Eddie Scurlock of Albuquerque, NM; 15 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; siblings, Garland Massingill and wife Sharon of Emory, TX, Betty Sprague of Seymour, TX, Jimmy Massingill and wife Velena of Crowley, TX; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Norma Harris and Berthie Alexander both of Brookport, IL.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Franklin and Opal Inez (Chandler) Massingill; husband, Norman Scurlock; 3 sons, Ricky, Frankie, and Johnny Beaty; sister, Ellen Arnold; brother, Jack Massingill; step son, Steve Scurlock
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis.
