Myrtle Dorris Obituary
Myrtle E. Dorris age 88 of Paducah, KY, formerly of Metropolis, IL, passed away February 4, 2018 at 7:28 a.m. at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY. She was the daughter of Wesley H. and Alice M. (Selhost) Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Father Brad Whistle officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Dorris was a member of St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church of Paducah, KY, and was employed by Suntrust Bank and the Massac County Unit 1 School System. During her life, she was a volunteer for her daughter's Brownie and Girl Scout Groups, a room mother for both of her children, a band parent, as well as a Red Cross volunteer.
Myrtle is survived by one daughter, Sarah Dorris and friend Mark Perry; one son, Sam Dorris and wife Valerie; two grandchildren, Sydney Rogers and husband Will and McKenzie Dorris; and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Alice Ring; and one niece, Christine Ring.
Friends may call at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home, Wednesday, February 7th, from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1 p.m.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the Guardian Family Services Center 117 W. 10th Metropolis, IL. 62960
