Luard Belt Obituary
Mr. Luard C. Belt, age 73, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Baptist Health Paducah.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with Don Selvidge officiating. Burial will follow in the Davisson-Baumgarner Cemetery with military rites.
Mr. Belt was a retired Sergeant from the Will County Sheriff's Office, a member of the Masonic Lodge #538 in Lockport, IL, and the American Legion. He was also an US Air Force Veteran who served in Vietnam.
Luard is survived by his stepdaughter, Dawn (McGuire) Billie; two stepsons, Kevin McGuire, and Robert McGuire; one grandson, Micah Trott; one niece, Sonja Coursey of Paducah, KY; one nephew, Robert Morgan of Metropolis; two cousins, Joann Skees of Metropolis and Linda Cremeens of Grand Tower.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Pauline (Singleton) Belt; one brother, O.D. Belt; and one half brother, Donald Morgan.
Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
Memorial contributions may be given to Operation CARE Bears IL State Police Post 22 1154 Shawnee Rd. Ullin, IL 62992.
