Joe Warren Konemann

Joe Warren Konemann, age 71 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away unexpectedly at 3:48 pm on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Massac Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Immanuel Baptist Church. Rev. Glenn Coram and Rev. Gary Cruse will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with military rites.
Joe was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Bus Driver, and Deacon. He also served with the Illinois Baptist Disaster Relief and was a trustee at the Union Baptist Association. He retired from the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant.
Joe is survived by his wife, Janice Konemann; daughters, Kayla Broughton and husband Steve, Rachel Henderson and husband Tim; grandchildren, Lauren Fox and husband Josh, Zachary Henderson, and Callan Broughton; siblings, Truman Konemann and wife Opal, Jeanette Shreves, Lowell "Preach" Konemann and wife Janice, Barb Jo Johnston, Marian Landis, Donald Pat Konemann and wife Audrey, Bob Konemann and wife Barb Sue, Shirley Bunting and husband Wayne; many nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nina (Smith) Konemann; brother, Bernard Konemann; sister, Margaret English.
Visitation will be held on Saturday evening August 12, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis and on Sunday from 1 pm until the funeral hour at the church.
