James Kommer Obituary
Mr. James William Kommer, age 87, of Paducah, KY, died at 1:00 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016, at the Forest Springs Health Campus in Louisville, KY.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2016, in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with military rites. Burial will follow.
Mr. Kommer was of Lutheran faith and a WWII Army Veteran.
James is survived by his nephew, Steve Hausman and wife Elizabeth of Pewee Valley, KY; great niece, Lauren Theiss and husband J.D. of Louisville, KY; brother-in-law, Fred Burchett and wife Mary of Paducah, KY.
He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Burchett Kommer; parents, Lawrence and Nina (Kotter) Kommer; one sister, Vitrue Hausman.
Visitation will be held at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home on Friday, November 25 from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church 520 Ferry Street Metropolis, IL 62960 or the Alzheimer's Disease Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter, Kaden Tower 401 6100 Dutchmans Lane Louisville, KY 40205.
