George Faughn Obituary
Mr. George L. Faughn, age 91, of Hamletsburg, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Baptist Health Paducah.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Brookport Chapel of Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with Rev. David LeNeave and Rev. Jeremy Faughn officiating. Burial will follow in Hamletsburg Cemetery with military rites.
Mr. Faughn was a WWII Army veteran receiving two bronze stars.
George is survived by his son, Michael Faughn and wife Pamela of Hamletsburg, IL; two grandsons, Jeremy Faughn and wife Stephanie of Huntersville, NC and Mark Faughn and wife Amy of Kirksey, KY; one granddaughter, Kaley Faughn and fiancé Matt Graham of Nashville, TN; one step granddaughter, Amanda Thomas of Lone Oak, KY; one step grandson, Michael Thomas of Metropolis, IL; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Thelma (Faughn) Sisk of Paducah, KY; and sister-in-law, Linda Tolen of Paducah, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Georgia (Kickasola) Faughn; his wife of nearly 60 years, Claudia Faughn; and one brother, Louis Faughn.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11 at the Brookport Chapel of Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Memorials Processing 501 St. Jude Pl Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or the American Cancer Society 4503 W. DeYoung St. Suite 200c Marion, IL 62959.
