Francisco Jaramillo Obituary
Mr. Francisco "Frank" Jaramillo, age 91, of rural Massac County, IL died on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral mass will be at 2pm on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Father Michael Mujule officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Cemetery in Boaz, IL.
Mr. Jaramillo was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Metropolis and the Knights of Columbus. He was a retired petroleum geologist who, during his years on the job, traveled with his family to Kuwait, Libya, Brazil, Iran, Pakistan, Algeria, Peru, Venezuela, and Congo. After retirement, he settled on his farm in Mermet, IL. He loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed by all.
Francisco is survived by his wife of 69 years, Catherine Jaramillo; four daughters, Dianita Jaramillo, Gloria Schmidt and husband Benjamin, Ana Maria Cannon and husband David, and Carla Jaramillo-Ford and husband Steve; 14 grandchildren, Denise Tarpein and husband Brian, Nicholas Tarpein and wife Kris, Daniel Tarpein and wife Yvette, Erik Schmidt, Carl Schmidt and wife Melody, Joseph Schmidt and wife Kristin, Michael Schmidt and wife Lacey, Carolyn Biddulph and husband Ted, Brent Cannon and wife Ronelle, Jennifer Cannon, Michelle Jacobs and husband Danny, Jacob Ford, Tess Ford and Katie Ford; 15 great grandchildren; one sister, Bertha Jaramillo Ramos; one brother, Benny Jaramillo; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Bertha Saona Jaramillo; one grandson, John Patrick Schmidt.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 2pm at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church on Saturday, December 30th.
Memorial contributions may be given in Frank's name to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 315 E. 3rd Street, Metropolis, IL, 62960 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
